The Audi A3 is a compact C-segment sedan with refined styling and sporty performance. Although the A3 has been around since 1996, it was only introduced in Malaysia in 2014 with the third-generation model. The Audi A3 goes against other luxury compact cars like the Mercedez-Benz A-Class as well as the BMW 2- and 3-Series.
Variants
There is only one variant of the Audi A3 being sold in Malaysia: the Audi A3 1.4 TFSI Sedan.

The price of a new Audi A3 sedan in Malaysia starts from RM230,789.80, which puts it in the luxury car segment.
Colors Available
There are nine colors available on the Audi A3 sedan with eight of them being metallic shades. The metallic shades are Ibis White, Glacier White, Floret Silver, Tango Red, Monsoon Grey, Nano Grey, Cosmos Blue, and Mythos Black. It is also available in Brilliant Black which is a gloss shade.
Interior
The Audi A3 has a modern and sleek interior with a very practical layout. The first thing to notice for the driver would be the fully digital Audi Virtual Cockpit with a 12.3-inch display instrument cluster that is integrated with Audi’s MMI Navigation Plus. The driver also gets a 3-spoke leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel. All the seats are upholstered in leather with both front seats having lumbar support and powered adjustments. There is also dual-zone automatic air conditioning with rear air vents. Other features include an interior lighting package, auto-dimming frameless rearview mirror, micrometallic silver trims, a front center armrest, cruise control, Comfort Key, and Audi Drive select.
Exterior
The Audi A3 sports a refined yet aggressive exterior styling with an angular grille and lights. It has full-LED lights all around with LED headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights with dynamic rear indicator lights. It also has headlight washers and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors with heating function.
Cabin Space
The Audi A3 measures 4,458 mm long, 1,796 mm wide, and 1,416 mm tall. It has a 425-liter boot which is expandable to 880 liters.
Infotainment system
The infotainment in the Audi A3 is controlled on the 7-inch retractable touchscreen display which is controlled via the MMI Touch which is a rotary button in the center console. The system also supports Bluetooth connectivity and plays music via eight speakers.
The Audi A3 sedan is powered by a 1.4 L turbocharged TFSI engine that produces a max power of 150 PS from 5,000 to 6,000 rpm and a max torque of 250 Nm from 1,500 to 3,500. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds and has a fuel consumption of only 4.9 L/100 km making it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the segment.
In terms of safety, the Audi A3 has all the standard safety features including six airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ISOFIX anchors and tether, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic vehicle immobilization device, Parking aid plus with a rearview camera system, and power-operated child safety lock.
The Audi A3 sedan is a smart, sporty sedan that offers good levels of refinement, impressive performance, and excellent ride quality. Although there are more affordable cars from competitors like BMW and Volkswagen, the Audi A3 in Malaysia is still a solid choice for buyers looking for a sporty, understated sedan.
